This patient has several amalgam
(Mercury) silver fillings. Not only can
these fillings be an eye sore, but they
are also known to develop small
fractures or cracks over the years,
allowing bacteria to leak through; this
bacteria can give rise to cavities
underneath the surface of these
fillings.

fillings replaced with Soft Touch fillings
(i.e. tooth colored, 100% mercury-free
fillings). So, he no longer draws
unwanted attention to his mouth. In
addition to these fillings being
cosmetically superior, and
mercury-free, they also provide better
protection against tooth fractures than
do silver fillings.
